Wing Mirrors

Changing out the Caterham wing mirrors is a common upgrade owners often make. I spotted some discussions about these on the Club forum and managed to get an order in with one of the club members who makes the re-styled mirror brackets (referred to as the ‘Eccles’ mirror). In fact, these brackets arrived months before the kit.

The issue with the standard mirrors is that they are directly mounted on the doors and often vibrate vigorously because of this. The Eccles mirror bracket fixes directly onto the door hinge and is therefore much more rigid. They are designed to take the SPA mirrors which can be ordered flat or convex (I went for convex as that gives a much better view of who is coming up the sliproads who might not have seen you).

The brackets and mirrors work well together and give me a good clear view at all speeds. In fact, they are way better than the central rearview mirror which is blurry almost all of the time because of the vibration inherent in the windscreen..
