Post Build Check

Krazy Horse came to pick up my car and take it back to their workshop.  Slight problem in that the clutch wasn’t working properly which made driving the car into the trailer a bit tricky.  This was looked at by KH and all that was needed was some adjustment at the pedal box (not something mentioned in the Assembly Guide).

There were a few things that I asked them to do, the main one being the torquing up of the front suspension.  I was happy to leave this to them given its really critical impact it has on the driveability.  With hindsight, I realise that I could have been a bit more brutal with the bodywork around the suspension and pushed it out of the way a bit more, so I could do this.

There were a few IVA specifics that they followed up on.  Some of these were not in the IVA guide or manual and I presume this is what they do based on experience (and it worked in that I passed first time!).  In particular:

  • Removing the pedal box cover
  • Removing the headlight flasher switch on the dash (this is presumably why its not installed when the car is delivered, but nothing in the guide about this)
  • Installing an IVA compliant steering wheel
  • Putting some protective trim on the front and rear brake hoses
  • Putting a protective trim on the clutch hose
  • Adjusting the tyre pressures
